Since 1989 Beechdean Dairies have been producing high quality Dairy Ice Cream which is supplied to a number of specialist retail outlets and high-profile venues around the country, and are now one of the UK’s leading Ice Cream manufacturers.
 

Over the years Beechdean has added many regional brands of ice cream and sells a range of ice creams from value to the most indulgent products.

 

About the Role:

This position is based in the production areas as part of the quality team, working on a rotating schedule as follows:

Week one and two: Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm

Week Three: Monday 8:00am – 4:30pm, Tuesday – Friday 10:30am – 7:00pm

 

Responsibilities:

Routine Calibrations of probes, scales and other equipment as required against schedule

- Temperature Checks

- GMP Audits to schedule

- Fabrication Audits to schedule

- Pest Control to schedule supporting 3rd party

- Environmental swabbing, air plates, ATP swabs, collection of finished products for lab testing

- Organisation of lab testing collections

- Volumetric Checks

- Packaging Checks

- Live Traceability Checks

- Daily production paperwork audit

- Printing and issuing of production paperwork

- Ordering of QA consumables e.g. swabs

- Placing non-conforming product on hold. Hold notice liaison with both the production and technical teams.

- Issuing shelf-life extensions for raw materials

- Product Quality against specification including: colour, taste, inclusions (wash out tests) etc

- Organisation of taste panel

- Support with audits to site – BRC, Retail, RSPO, RFA

- Support QA Manager with any additional tasks

- Support the business in any additional relevant tasks

 

QA Skills and Experience – Desirable

· Experience working within a food manufacturer, ideally ice cream/chilled

· Accuracy, attention to detail and numerate approach to provide data on time in the right format.

· Time management, be able to work on own initiative both solo and as a team.

· Confident, articulate and courteous communicator over the phone, face-to-face and in writing.

· Highly flexible, competent and adaptable and takes responsibility for own improvement.

· Undertakes tasks with enthusiasm and always takes pride in his/her work. Communicates effectively at all levels, considers others’ opinions and always treats others with respect.

· Numeracy skills.

Skills and Experience – Required

· Experience in a similar role

· Internal Audit Training

· Food Hygiene (Basic) Training

· HACCP Level 2 training
